REED Nepal is providing humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain human dignity during different natural and man-made disasters. We are partnering with Nepal Government to strengthen preparedness for different natural and man-made disasters adopting different approaches. We are guided by the key humanitarian principles of: humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence. We shouldered with our stakeholders via cash and kind support in different times, i. e firing, landslide, and earthquake and most importantly in combating with COVID 19. We distributed tents, radios, lights and other emergency logistics support to the vulnerable families and children. We built the safe temporary learning centers and school buildings after the earthquakes. Despite COVID 19 pandemic, we broadcasted more than 500 learning outcome focused radio lessons as well as more than 300 TV classes. We conducted psycho social classes from online media to show our strong solidarity with emergency affairs. We provided cash support to Local Governments and District Emergency Relief Fund for emergency affairs: health, food, nutrition, cash, water, hygiene, sanitation, livelihoods and shelter to the most affected people to prevent, mitigate and respond to the health and socio-economic effects of disasters. Similarly, to decrease the harmful practices such as child marriage and mental or psycho social health of students and parents, we conducted awareness programs at schools and communities.
